Summary: The Director of Clinical Services provides direct and indirect oversight of Nursing, Lab & Radiology, and other clinical systems and processes. This position provides oversight into the development of high quality, cost-effective, and integrated clinical programs. In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer and leadership, the Director of Clinical Services is responsible for maintaining compliance with all federal grants, HRSA, Kansas state clinical boards, HIPAA, and Hunter Health Clinic (HHC) policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Performs all essential functions of a Nurse in addition to the following Director of Clinical Services functions:
Supervises the Nursing and Lab and Radiology teams. This may include hiring, onboarding, coaching, training, evaluating performance, and initiating corrective action when needed.
Performs the duties of the Nursing Manager if or when the position is vacant.
Collaborates with other leaders in system and process structure, including creation and implementation of new procedures and policies and management of existing ones.
Ensures a high-quality patient experience, efficiency of patient service delivery, and the implementation of innovative strategies to drive patient access.
Establishes accountability systems and controls for clinical operational systems according to standards and benchmarks set by the organization, licensing boards and funding agencies (e.g. clinical quality measures, productivity, patient satisfaction, etc.).
Collaborates in the development of departmental budgets, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources available to meet the clinic's needs.
Develops and manages all procedures and workflows to be consistent with the clinic’s objectives, protocols, regulations, and standards.
Ensures that clinical operations conform to established environmental, safety, and infection control requirements.
Creates an environment of high employee engagement to support Hunter Health’s mission to be the employer of choice in the community.
Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure that the medical equipment and supplies are available, and in emergencies, includes medications, lab processing and notification of emergency medical services when indicated.
Oversees and guides the Employee Health procedures to ensure compliance.
Communicates and collaborates professionally and effectively with providers, medical support staff, Business Operations staff, and administration.
Travels when necessary to meet operational needs.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing is required.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kansas is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of hiring.
3 years of experience in healthcare leadership is required; 5 years preferred.
Experience in a community health center is preferred.
Senior leadership experience is preferred.
Bilingual abilities are preferred but not required.
