Job Description - Director of Clinical Services-Outpatient

POSITION TITLE: DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES-OUTPATIENT


DEPARTMENT: LEADERSHIP


FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT



JOB SUMMARY
This position oversees all aspects of outpatient programming and provides supervision of staff within the program to ensure excellent customer service to clients, staff and vendors, and provides a leadership role in the promotion of the program and ShareHouse within the community.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Director of Clinical Services supervises various roles, including but not limited to:



  • Clinical positions (Licensed Addiction Counselors and/or Case Managers)

  • Mental Health Clinical Supervisor

  • Office/Clerical positions



DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Provide direct supervision of clinical staff in group and individual settings on a quarterly basis in day and evening programs.

  • Provide staff supervision to include weekly meetings with clinical staff, treatment plan review, performance management and setting of goals and objectives to provide sufficient feedback, ensuring development and growth of staff and excellent care to clients

  • Present training to existing staff to include state licensing requirements, policies and procedures, changes in legislation and/or treatment programs, and training/orientation to new staff upon hire to ensure legal and corporate policy compliance

  • Complete administrative duties to include program direction, development of policy and procedure, maintain files and records to ensure smooth and continued operation of program

  • Work with CEO/President and CFO in reviewing and adhering to annual program budget to demonstrate fiscal responsibility to the Board of Directors

  • Attend administrative and other meetings as required to maintain and increase awareness of organizational goals and objectives; communicate information as necessary to staff

  • Provide group/client primary services to include facilitation of groups and meetings as necessary to ensure sufficient level of care for clients

  • Provide leadership in the advocacy of programming services and ShareHouse

  • Represent the organization at outside meetings in a positive manner to increase awareness of and generate interest in program

  • Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity

  • Works closely with Senior Leadership on strategic planning and operations of Outpatient services



PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Monitor/oversee all contract labor, interns and consulting staff to ensure continued operation of program

  • Collaborate with all support service teams (such as Finance, Human Resources and Compliance)

  • Assist in development of marketing materials to promote all ShareHouse programming

  • Serve on committees as assigned

  • Perform other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Minimum 4-year (Bachelor’s) degree in a human services-related field such as psychology, social work, criminal justice or similar area of study or in a business management-related field such as business administration, healthcare administration or similar area of study; and

  • 5 years work-related experience along with;

  • Minimum of 2 years management/supervision


 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Experience and knowledge of business administration and strategic focus

  • Master’s degree in related area of study

  • Current Licensed Addiction Counselor licensure or ability to obtain licensure



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATES



  • May be required to possess and maintain valid driver license and be able to be insured according to company insurance standards

  • May be required to be CPR and First Aid Certified, dependent upon staffing levels

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation:


Frequently requires:



  • Stooping and bending

  • Use of color vision and ability to distinguish colors

  • Pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs.

  • Ability to communicate orally and hear/understand oral communication

  • Ability to utilize fine motor skills, reach and grasp


Occasionally requires:



  • Standing for up to 1 hour

  • Pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying over 15 lbs.


 


WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in an environment with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.



*Compensation for this position is based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
