Job Description - Director of Community Based Peer Support for Youth & Families

Description

 

Job Summary:

The Program Director of Community Based Peer Support for Youth and Families is responsible for the administration and supervision of family and youth related programs and services. Responsibilities include oversight and management of the identified programs; leadership, supervision and mentorship of staff; community partnerships; continuous quality improvement and compliance with regulations, laws and funding expectations. This position serves on the management team of the agency.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

· Administrative and Program Oversight

  • Ensures that programs and services are accessible to those in need.
  • Leads efforts to enhance/develop new programs and services that promote recovery, wellness and community integration for individuals/youth/families served.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations for the provision of services delivered.
  • Partners with community agencies for referrals to and from the agency.
  • Assists with the development of an annual budget and monitors financial expenditures against the budgetary plan. Ensures services are billed and received as applicable. Makes financial corrections/decisions as necessary.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments within the organization to ensure administrative, operational, financial and program needs are met.
  • Ensures that staff follow agency policies and procedures as well as adhere to guidelines and regulations set forth by regulatory and oversight bodies.
  • Represents the agency in the community as needed.
  • Coordinates with clients, customers, volunteers and other stakeholders to ensure that programs and services meet the needs of communities served.
  • Collects qualitative and quantitative data for funders (ex: OMH, United Way, etc.) in a timely manner, evaluate data and implement changes as needed for community programs.

· Leadership, Supervision and Mentoring of Staff

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding and continued training of staff and volunteers so that they have the knowledge, skills and resources to perform their jobs adequately.
  • Provides consistent and quality supervision to staff including observation of their work offsite/ in the community as applicable. Addresses any performance issues and fosters opportunities for professional development.
  • Facilities quality team meetings and case reviews, communicates to team and leadership group as needed for follow-up
  • Ensures that staff maintain current certification to meet regulatory requirements of the job.

· Quality Assurance and Improvement

  • Ensures that all referrals are assigned and followed up on.
  • Ensures all units of service are accurately documented in the electronic health record in adherence to regulatory and agency expectations. Develops plans for improvement as necessary.
  • Assures that program metrics/outcomes are achieved and reported on as expected.
  • Ensures billing requirements and standards are met, reconciles any discrepancies or need with billing team.
  • Follows Corporate Compliance, Incident Reporting and Documentation standards

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Program Directors provide direct supervision of their staff and volunteers.

Requirements

 

Requirements for this position:

Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Clinician, or other Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts required

OR

Credentialed Family Peer Advocate with a minimum of 2 years of experience providing services and 2 years supervising a Family Peer Advocate Program.

AND

Personal lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver of a child who has experienced emotional/behavioral challenges required.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred

Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2-year Leadership and Supervisory Experience
