The Director of Construction plays a key leadership role in ensuring our multifamily projects are delivered with excellence—from breaking ground to final turnover. This role sits on the Leadership Team and is responsible for achieving company-wide goals, monitoring key metrics, and ensuring the right people are in the right seats based on GWC (Get it, Want it, and Capacity to do it).
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership position that not only requires advanced construction technical knowledge, but also requires embracing the ability to lead, and hold teams accountable, and exhibit strong belief in process-driven execution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead with stewardship: Oversee all construction activities with an ownership mindset, managing resources wisely and ensuring projects reflect our commitment to excellence and lasting value.
- Serve others first: Support and develop project teams, superintendents, and field crews, creating an environment where collaboration, mentorship, and communication thrive.
- Drive project execution from preconstruction through final turnover, managing schedules, budgets, logistics, and subcontractor performance.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
- Foster a culture of hard work and accountability, where teams are clear on expectations and empowered to take ownership of results.
- Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and development partners to solve problems proactively and maintain schedule momentum.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds company quality standards and client expectations.
- Use KPIs and regular reporting to drive results and continuous improvement across all active job sites.
- Own and drive continuous improvement in scheduling, communication, documentation, and project delivery.
- Demonstrate unwavering integrity, making decisions that prioritize long-term results over shortcuts.
- Act as a role model of integrity, consistently demonstrating ethical behavior and transparency in decision-making and communication.
- Use weekly scorecards and KPIs to track and improve project performance, labor efficiency, schedules, and quality benchmarks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive construction leadership experience, with a strong focus on multifamily residential preferred.
- Strong understanding of all facets of ground-up multifamily construction, including sitework, structural, MEP, and finishes.
- A natural leader who brings clarity, focus, and accountability to every job and every team.
- Proven success managing multiple large-scale projects and diverse field teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates exceptional character—consistently acting with integrity, humility, professionalism, and respect for others.
- Proficient in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Excel, etc).
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
