Are you an experienced construction leader with a passion for delivering high-quality projects that make a lasting impact? RHF is seeking a Director of Construction to provide strategic leadership and oversight for our construction, rehabilitation, and capital improvement portfolio.
This position oversees projects from pre-development and pre-construction through construction, closeout, and transition to operations. The Director works closely with executive leadership, Development, Operations, Finance, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable requirements.

As our Director of Construction, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight across RHF's construction and rehabilitation portfolio by:
Construction Leadership & Portfolio Management: Provide strategic oversight for construction, rehabilitation, and capital improvement projects while establishing project goals, performance expectations, accountability measures, and reporting standards.
Team Leadership: Direct, develop, mentor, and support Construction Managers and assigned administrative/support staff while fostering collaboration and accountability across project teams.
Pre-Development & Pre-Construction: Participate in feasibility evaluations, due diligence, preliminary budgets and schedules, design development, constructability reviews, value engineering, permitting, and contractor/consultant selection.
Construction Management: Provide executive-level oversight throughout construction, monitoring project quality, safety, schedules, budgets, contractor performance, and compliance with approved plans, specifications, contracts, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Contract Administration & Risk Management: Review and administer construction and consultant contracts, monitor contract performance, identify potential risks, and support the resolution of claims, disputes, construction defects, and other project issues.
Budget & Financial Management: Develop and oversee construction budgets and financial forecasts, monitor project costs and commitments, review change orders and expenditures, analyze budget variances, and partner with Finance and Development on project funding requirements.
Schedule & Project Controls: Establish and monitor project schedules and critical milestones, identify potential delays, oversee project reporting and documentation, and implement corrective or recovery plans when needed.
Safety & Compliance: Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, applicable federal, state, and local regulations, building codes, permitting requirements, and organizational standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with executive leadership, Development, Operations, Finance, Property Management, governmental agencies, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and support successful project delivery.
Operations Transition & Closeout: Oversee punch-list completion, warranty administration, final inspections, and the collection of as-built drawings, warranties, operating manuals, certifications, lien releases, and other closeout documentation.
Strategic Planning & Reporting: Develop construction performance metrics, identify process improvements and cost efficiencies, evaluate industry best practices, and provide executive-level reporting on project performance, risks, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
LEED Accreditation
OSHA 30-Hour Certification
General Contractor License, where applicable
Ability to travel regularly to project sites throughout RHF's portfolio.
Ability to walk active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished structures when necessary.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform site inspections for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
