Summary: The Director of Counseling & Student Services will direct, develop, implement, supervise, and evaluate all aspects of the comprehensive counseling program in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The Director of Counseling & Student services will conduct professional development; provide clinical supervision for counselors serving in schools; and coordinate university interns with campus counselors to ensure the effective delivery of counseling and related services. In addition, The Director of Counseling & Student Services will provide consultation and support to campus counselors and principals.
Position Responsibilities:
*Oversee all aspects of the counseling program development and management.
*Provide leadership and support to campus counselors and campus leaders in the implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program which promotes optimal student academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
*Provide support and assistance to campus principals/administrators in the supervision and evaluation of campus counseling programs and services.
*Establish strong working relationships with students, parents, and school faculties to facilitate effective collaboration and shared leadership.
*Respond to critical incident at a campus level and provides community resources.
*Identify and/or design professional development opportunities for counseling staff regarding effective counseling techniques and strategies based on an in-depth knowledge of child development.
*Serve as a resource and consultant for campus counselors, administrators, parents, and teachers.
*Provide coordination and direct supervision and evaluation of university counseling interns.
*Collect and analyze data to guide program priorities and activities.
*Research, develop, and implement counseling policies and procedures.
*Analyze counseling and guidance procedures and techniques to improve quality of service.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and campus administration to assist in the development of student improvement plans to promote student success.
*Adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the counseling profession.
Pursue relevant professional development.
*Conduct campus visits to provide support and consultation to counselors serving in the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
*Develop budget recommendations for the initiatives and programs needed to fully operate the Guidance and Counseling Program.
*Participate in relevant administrative meetings conducted by the Superintendent and/or staff members of the Department of Catholic Schools.
Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
*Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Master’s degree in a counseling related field (e.g., including, but not limited to, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work).
Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a counselor in a school or clinical setting.
Experience with critical incident response required.
Experience and knowledge of clinical supervision, preferred.
Experience in Catholic schools, preferred.
License and Credentials
Reliable transportation
Valid driver license
Valid vehicle insurance
Current Texas LPC Licensure, or Texas School Counselor Certification (EC-12) preferred
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
Must have good written and verbal skills;
Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Travel Requirements:
Travel requirements for the position includes up to 50% local and 0% overnight.
