Job Description:

The Director of Development is responsible for leading and executing CPCD’s fundraising strategies and activities to support our mission and secure long-term financial sustainability. This includes cultivating and stewarding individual and corporate donors, managing donor databases, executing fundraising campaigns and events, and enhancing community awareness. This role collaborates with executive leadership and the Board Development Committee to achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustainability.

Pay:

Bi-weekly: $3,635.58

Annually: $94,525.00

About CPCD: 

At CPCD, we provide more than 1,500 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Our additional health, dental, and family support services ensure that children enrolled in our programs are ready to succeed in school and life. Additional Benefits for Eligible Employees (25+ hours per week): 

CPCD offers paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays/Breaks. 

  • Paid Holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Presidents Day, Martin Luther      King Jr. Day
  • Paid Breaks include 1-week for Spring Break (March), 1-week for Fall Break (November), and 2- weeks for Winter Break (end of December/beginning of January).

Tuition Assistance is available after 60 days of employment 

  • $4,000 per year for Early Childhood Education Associates/Bachelor’s Degrees.
  • $2,500 per year for other degrees related to employment at CPCD.

  • Employee Assistance Program provides 6 FREE sessions with a counselor or therapist per year 
  • Full well-being program to encourage and promote your well-being in the workplace, including 2 hours of paid time per month for wellness activities. 

Please Note: The successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination, TB screen, back-ground screen and drug test (including marijuana) is required.

Requirements

Required:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Services, or a related field.
  •  Minimum of four years of successful experience in fundraising, development, or related roles in marketing or public relations.
  •  Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
  •  Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders.
  •  High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive donor and organizational information.
  •  Proactive thinker with creativity, flexibility, and initiative.
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  •  Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination, TB assessment, drug test, and background screen. Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required.
  •  Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of minimum liability insurance as required by the State of Colorado.

Preferred:

  •  Masters Degree in Business, Communications, Human Services, or related field.
  •  Familiarity with local philanthropic, nonprofit, and business communities.
  •  Understanding of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ (AFP) Donor Bill of Rights.
  •  Experience with multiple fundraising models/strategies
