Job Description - Director of External Programs - Professional Development Opportunities

The Director of External Programs is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of all special programs within the affiliated company. This role works closely to assist in the planning, designing, implementing, and operation of external programs at the affiliated company. Additionally, this role ensures that relationships with all internal and external stakeholders are managed and upheld through agency programming. The Director of External Programs provides input on strategy and success of various programs and projects, while working with various departments within the agency to ensure success.

Essential Functions:

  • Upon initiation of new programming, plan, organize, and monitor day to day progress of all specialized programming within the affiliated company.
  • Work closely with the Executive Team on new programming and ensure operational planning and oversight of agency special programming.
  • Serve as the key operator of all company external programming and contracting.
  • In collaboration with agency directors, manage operational functions of special programming within the affiliated company. This includes, but is not limited: to one-to-one relationship building, KPI tracking and management, stakeholder engagement, and communication across programs.
  • Complete on-site visits to community partners and stakeholders to evaluate efficiency of operations, and periodic follow up as needed.
  • Collaborate with all clinical team members to meet the needs of specialized program, including training, creation of scheduling, and mapping of program structure.
  • Complete and maintain updated Standard Operating Procedures and manuals for all special programming.
  • Provide direct support and supervision to all special programming staff, including initial training.
  • Track and oversee performance indicators to meet targeted growth projections.
  • Analyze risks and communicate key needs related to program success.
  • Proactively monitor program processes and provide feedback and strategy for operational growth.
  • Ongoing collaboration internally, to ensure program implementation and success.
  • Collect and share reports and feedback to Executive Management Team regarding programming outcomes, needs, and strategies.
  • Attend program and provider meetings, and provide reports to the Executive Management Team
  • Complete and report data, as needed/assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field. Master’s Preferred.
  • At least 2 years of direct managerial experience
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A “people person” who enjoys meeting and engaging with new people on a regular basis
  • Ability to communicate in an honest, direct, and professional manner, relating well to others to build rapport and effective relationships.
