Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for overseeing work performed by the engineering, marine, golf maintenance and golf operations departments.  The incumbent in this position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and regulations, as well as state, local, and Federal ordinance.  The incumbent in this position is responsible for setting goals, objectives, and action plans to ensure successful operations in assigned areas.

  1. Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to employees in order to provide superior customer service. 
  2. Responsible for the overall operation of the following departments: Marine, Facilities, Golf Operations and Golf Maintenance.
  3. Hires, motivates, evaluates and directs staff in order to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established department objectives.
  4. Maintains, through subordinates and direct observation, a continuous awareness of all operational areas.
  5. Prepares operating budgets, monitors budgetary compliance and takes action on budget variance items.
  6. Act as the company liaison for all maritime matters with local, state and federal agencies.
  7. Adhere to and enforce compliance with all regulations established by the Indiana Gaming Commission, ABS, and other applicable agencies pertaining to riverboat gaming and vessel operations.
  8. Approves staffing work schedules and assures optimum development of work force.
  9. Maintains departmental cleanliness standards through inspection process throughout all assigned areas of responsibility by observing and correcting any work-related deficiencies.
  10. Appraises work situations; directs, delegates, schedules and organizes work crews through their leaders to accomplish all assigned job functions.
  11. Direct departmental resources to complete cleaning duties and maintenance/repair tasks on the vessel with minimal impact on guest service.
  12. Participate and contribute towards the initiatives established by the Executive team.
  13. Prepares schedules and reports as required for equipment and personnel.

Qualifications

  3. Direct departmental resources to complete cleaning duties and maintenance/repair tasks on the vessel with minimal impact on guest service.

  5. Prepares schedules and reports as required for equipment and personnel.
  6. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school degree or equivalent, as well as through a minimum of five years’ related experience and or training involving knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, air, carpentry, painting, water systems and maritime functions.  Three (3) years previous supervisory experience required.  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
