Job Description - Director of Facilities


Our Lady of Good Counsel is seeking a full-time Director of Facilities (40 hours a week) with experience and knowledge regarding maintenance prevention, repair, and renovation. Occasional schedule flexibility is needed outside normal business hours. This position will supervise volunteers and report to the Director of Operations.

·  Supervise and conduct maintenance of multiple buildings on two campuses regarding HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and grounds amongst other areas. 

·  Supervise maintenance volunteers and manage outside contractors.

·  Contribute to the safety and security of the physical campus.

·  Assist with setup and teardown for parish events

·  Provide excellent customer service through positive interactions with staff, parishioners, tenants, and guests. A positive demeanor and composure are required.

·  Perform building maintenance and repairs such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, etc.

·  Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and facility issues and communicate updates as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·  Maintenance supervisory experience preferred. 

·  Working knowledge of equipment, materials, supplies and tools used in building maintenance and repairs.

·  Ability to work productively and cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.

·  Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical labor for extended periods.

·  Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

·  Ability to work professionally, safely, and follow all safety rules and procedures. Have awareness parishioner, staff and guest safety at all times.

·  Ability to communicate effectively with verbal and written instructions.

·  Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call availability may be required for parish events, emergencies, weather-related duties, or facility needs.
