Are you a hands-on facilities leader ready to make a visible impact across an entire school district? We are hiring a Director of Facilities Operations to lead a full Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) program across eight district buildings in Vincennes, IN. In this highly visible role, you will partner directly with the Superintendent and school administrators—overseeing maintenance, custodial, grounds, and renovation projects while managing a dedicated team in a predominantly swing and night-shift environment.

What You'll Do
Lead full IFM operations across 8 school buildings—ensuring excellence in maintenance, custodial, and grounds services
Manage and develop a team of facilities staff, fostering accountability, performance, and engagement
Serve as the primary liaison to the Superintendent—providing transparent reporting and maintaining exceptional client relationships
Oversee district‑wide renovation and construction projects as the owner's representative, coordinating with contractors and vendors
Own the P&L budget—driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals
Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient working environments across all facilities
What You Bring
Proven client relationship management—experience partnering with senior district leadership, school administrators, or equivalent stakeholders
Strong project management—leading renovation/construction projects as an owner's rep, from planning through completion
Deep facilities expertise—maintenance, custodial, grounds, and synthetic‑turf field operations across multi‑building sites
Financial acumen—P&L ownership, budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation
Hands‑on leadership style—you anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and communicate with clarity and confidence
High adaptability and emotional intelligence—you work effectively with diverse personalities across the district
This is a daytime management role with occasional nights and weekends depending on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of management experience
5+ years of functional facilities operations experience
Demonstrated experience managing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and utilities systems—both preventative and reactive maintenance
Proven experience as owner's representative on building renovation/construction projects
Experience managing custodial operations, grounds, and synthetic‑turf sports fields
Strong supervisory background—hiring, training, performance reviews, and staff development

About the Role
This position is onsite in Vincennes, IN. We strongly prefer local candidates within a 30–45 minute commute (Knox, Gibson, Pike, or Daviess counties). Relocation is not supported.
