Director of Financ - with Great Benefits

Location: Miami Area Command, Miami, Florida

Position Type: Exempt

Pay Range: $76,000-$88,600.00/ Annually

About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for planning, developing, managing, and controlling the day-to-day operations of the accounting, finance, and personnel functions for an Area Command or large Corps.

Key responsibilities:

· Serves as liaison and financial advisor to the local units, Advisory Boards, Divisional Headquarters, and Territorial Headquarters by reporting the financial status and researching financial discrepancies.

· Manages and monitors all general ledger, purchasing, budgetary, and personnel functions

· Ensures all accounting and financial functions are in compliance with The Salvation Army policy as well as local, state, and federal regulations

· Ensures the accuracy, completeness, timeliness and integrity of all financial reporting.

What we are looking for in you:

· Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a relate field, AND

· Five years progressively responsible experience performing complex and varied accounting and bookkeeping functions for an organization with at least two years in a supervisory capacity, OR

· Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
