Job Description - Director of Finance


LOCATION: Dallas, TX
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
DIRECT REPORTS: Senior Financial Reporting Analyst


OVERVIEW:
The Director of Finance will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and financial reporting functions across a complex multi‑entity organization. The consolidated group includes:


A Wealth Management multi‑family office and SEC‑registered investment advisory firm in the ultra high net worth space.
A Private Bank and Trust Company regulated by the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and Texas Department of Banking


This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, consolidated financial reporting and managing monthly close processes across all legal entities. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting foundation, proven public accounting and industry
leadership experience, and hands-on FP&A expertise—particularly with Oracle Hyperion Planning and Budgeting and Oracle NetSuite.
This is a critical role that partners closely with the CFO and Corporate Controller to deliver financial insights that support strategic growth and operational performance.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


Financial Planning & Analysis / Financial Reporting



  • Lead FP&A activities across multiple regulated legal entities

  • Oversee annual budgets, monthly financial reporting and forecasts, long-range planning, and scenario modeling

  • Maintain and enhance financial models supporting profitability analysis and strategic initiatives

  • Deliver timely, accurate management, Board and Trust Committee reporting packages with variance analysis and key performance metrics

  • Serve as the organizational expert for Oracle Hyperion Planning and Budgeting and Oracle NetSuite, driving continuous improvement and data integrity

  • Oversee the preparation of stand alone and consolidated historical and forecast financial statements at the Tolleson Private Bank, Tolleson Private Trust and Tolleson Wealth Management reporting entity levels

  • Ensure all reporting meets U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory standards

  • Coordinate with the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to ensure accuracy, completeness, and documentation consistency

  • Improve financial close efficiency and strengthen internal controls

  • Responsible for equity accounting and implementation of equity management system (Astrella)


Leadership & Collaboration



  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance reporting automation, and elevate analytical capabilities and partner with the IT/Business Applications teams and outside consulting firms to execute


MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA with an accounting focus

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license a plus

  • Minimum 4 years of Big 4 public accounting experience, including managing audit engagement teams

  • Minimum 2+ years of FP&A industry experience, including hands-on work with Oracle Hyperion Planning and Budgeting

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls within a multi‑entity structure

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills


OTHER ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE TRAITS:



  • Experience in banking, trust, wealth management, or investment advisory industries

  • Exposure to regulatory reporting environments (Federal Reserve, FDIC, state banking regulators, SEC)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and process improvements

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Oracle NetSuite dashboards)
