SUMMARY
UACDC’s financial management, accounting operations, grants administration, budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting functions. This position oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the organization while ensuring strong internal controls, fiscal accountability, compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and alignment with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
The Director of Finance plays a critical role in supporting the financial sustainability of UACDC’s community development, affordable housing, infrastructure, workforce development, youth development, and capital improvement initiatives. This role works closely with executive leadership, department directors, funders, auditors, government agencies, and the Board of Directors to ensure effective financial planning, reporting, operational accountability, and stewardship of organizational resources.
In addition to financial leadership, this role provides operational and program oversight support to ensure organizational programs, contracts, grants, and initiatives are implemented efficiently, sustainably, and in compliance with funding requirements and organizational objectives. The Director works collaboratively across departments to strengthen operational systems, improve financial and program performance, and support organizational growth and long-term sustainability.
The Director oversees accounting operations, grant and contract financial management, budgeting, audits, banking relationships, financial systems, and operational financial analysis while supporting compliance with federal, state, local, and private funding requirements. This position requires strong nonprofit accounting experience, knowledge of federal grant compliance regulations, and the ability to manage complex financial and operational activities in a multi-program environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages a small staff of direct reports to assist with the various development implementation and administration. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Position Requirements:
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual language skills are an added plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to apply principles of logical or thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of all Social Media Platforms; Contact Management systems; Database software; Design software; Development software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and Windows.
