Director of Finance

 A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead the organization’s accounting and financial management functions.

This position will serve as the company’s senior financial leader and will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, manufacturing cost accounting, internal controls, financial analysis, and leadership of the finance team.

The ideal candidate will combine strong accounting knowledge with business and operational experience. This individual must be comfortable working at both the detailed and strategic levels—ensuring the accuracy of the financials while also providing leadership with meaningful analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company's accounting and finance functions
• Lead Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
• Oversee product costing and manufacturing cost accounting
• Maintain oversight of company cash flow & working capital  
• Develop and maintain appropriate financial policies and internal controls  
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Ensure effective use of the company's ERP and financial reporting systems
• Lead, manage, and develop the Finance team

 Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial experience. 
• Experience leading or supervising accounting and finance employees. 
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, general accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. 
• Experience with manufacturing accounting, inventory, and product costing. 
• Experience managing month-end and year-end financial close processes. 
• Strong ERP experience. 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial leaders. 

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CMA, or MBA. 
• 10+ years of progressive financial experience. 
• Previous experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, Assistant Controller, or similar financial leadership position. 
• Experience within a privately held manufacturing company. 
• Strong manufacturing cost-accounting experience. 
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, internal controls, audits, and financial planning. 
• Experience working directly with senior executives and/or company ownership.
