Director of Finance and Operations at Durham Nativity School
Durham Nativity School, a vibrant school serving 5-8th grade students in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Director of Finance and Operations to play a key role in our future growth and success. This position will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the financial management of the school, as well as contract and facility management functions. Responsibilities: Finance: Develop and manage all financial statements and reporting. Develop and manage the school's annual budget, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles and internal controls. Oversee all financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking. Manage any outside contractors performing those roles Prepare and analyze financial reports for the Board of Directors and senior leadership team. Manage cash flow forecasting and investment strategies. Implement and maintain robust financial systems and procedures. Identify and implement cost-saving measures on an ongoing basis. Liaison with the Board of Trustees Finance Committee. Human Resources: Direct and oversee payroll and benefits administration through contracted vendors. Assist the Head of School as needed with human resources needs. Monitor performance of payroll/benefits vendor and annually review vendor performance. Facilities and Contracts: Manage all aspects of the school's rental agreements. Oversee the capital plan for the school. Oversee deferred maintenance and hiring of contractors for repair of the school's facilities. Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency procedures. Manage all institutional contracts, including fire, safety, maintenance, and HVAC. Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations. Qualifications: Commitment to celebrating, amplifying, and uplifting our young men. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role. Strong financial analysis and reporting skills. Knowledge of property management best practices.
