Job Description - Director of Food and Beverage Outlets

Description

Job Summary

The Director of Outlets is responsible for overseeing and directing service in all F&B Outlets (Restaurant, Room Service, Bar, Cocktail Lounge, and Coffee Shop) while maintaining adherence to budgeted payroll and overhead cost. The Director of Outlets will work closely with Stewarding and Culinary to ensure cohesion between departments and increase the guest experience. 

Exempt associates are expected to work as necessary to complete their job responsibilities. Exempt managers must customarily and regularly direct the work of at least 3 full-time associates or their equivalents. Primary duties must consist of administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time and job duties must also involve the use of discretion and independent judgement more than 50 percent of the time.
 

Job Requirements

· At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel, food and beverage industry, or a related field, a 2-year college degree, and 3 or more years of related experience. Or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience.

· Holds and maintains applicable certification requirements for the position, including Alcohol Awareness, ServSafe, etc. 

· Previous supervisory experience required.

· Experience implementing new Food and Beverage concepts. 

· Must have working knowledge of POS Systems.

· Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations, including face paced environments.

· Must maintain professionalism under pressure.

· Must be effective in problem resolution and guest service strategies.

· Must have the ability to interpret data and make recommendations to enhance the business strategy. 

· Must be able to work with and understand financial data, as well as communicate it to Leadership, as necessary. 

· Ability to push, pull or lift up to 25 pounds.

· Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time or entire shift.

Job Duties & Functions

· Responsible for hiring, training, coaching and counseling, and communication with the Food and Beverage Outlets staff. 

· Coordinates the operations of the Outlets to ensure efficient guest service. 

· Works to improve Food and Beverage sales revenues to exceed budget.

· Responsible for Food and Beverage compliance as it relates to the brand, local ordinances, and management's expectations. 

· Implement and maintain the Food and Beverage sales and marketing plan. 

· Communicates effectively in a timely manner with staff and other departments of the hotel.

· Resolve customer complaints as appropriate and implements procedures to increase guest satisfaction in the Outlets. 

· Assists the F&B Director or Hotel Manager with inventory, forecasting and budgeting of the Food and Beverage Outlets, if applicable. 

· Knowledgeable of industry trends, and able to apply creative solutions and enhancements to the Outlets. 

· Other projects and duties as assigned by Leadership.
