Director of Food Services

The Director of Food Services is responsible for overseeing the entire food service operation within the hospital, ensuring compliance with health regulations, quality control, and budget management. The director will lead a team of dietary staff to provide nutritious and appealing meals for patients while accommodating special dietary needs. The Director collaborates with clinical staff to ensure that meals meet the nutritional requirements of patients and supports the overall wellness of the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage food service operations, including purchasing, menu planning, food preparation, and sanitation.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate food service staff to ensure adherence to standards.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal food safety regulations.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of food services.
• Consults with the contracted Dietician to create meal plans that meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Monitor food service budget and implement cost-control measures.
• Coordinate with suppliers to maintain inventory and quality ingredients.
• Assess patient feedback and implement changes to improve meal satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or related field required.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of nutritional practices and concepts related to patient care.
• Experience with budget management and food service operations.
• ServSafe Certification required.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and manage diverse teams.
