Job Description - Director of FP&A


Overview

We are seeking a Director of FP&A who will be a hands-on financial leader responsible for owning and executing the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes. This role will oversee the full budget cycle, lead budget-to-actual analysis, and deliver clear, actionable insights on financial performance and key variances. This person will partner closely with operational and field leadership, and ensure timely, accurate reporting and effective communication of financial results, helping drive informed decision-making and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the annual budgeting process, including coordination across departments and field operations
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts and long-range financial plans
  • Perform monthly budget-to-actual analysis, identifying key variances and trends
  • Deliver clear, concise financial reporting packages for executive leadership and field teams
  • Partner with operational and field leaders to translate financial results into actionable insights
  • Build, enhance, and maintain financial models to support planning and analysis
  • Improve FP&A processes, tools, and reporting to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial reporting systems
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial analysis and scenario modeling
  • Prepare and deliver financial reporting and analysis packages for private equity sponsors, lenders, and board-level stakeholders
  • Support sponsor requests with timely, accurate, and insightful analysis, including ad hoc performance deep dives and KPI reporting
  • Assist in the development of materials for board meetings, lender presentations, and investor communications
  • Ensure alignment of internal reporting with sponsor expectations, including KPI definitions and performance tracking
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis 
  • Demonstrated experience owning and managing the full budgeting and forecasting process
  • Strong background in budget-to-actual analysis, variance reporting, and financial performance tracking
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, with the ability to work hands-on in the data
  • Experience working with financial systems and reporting tools
  • Proven ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for both leadership and field teams
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting financial results to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a private equity-backed or highly leveraged environment, with exposure to sponsor reporting and board-level communication
  • Understanding of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital dynamics
  • Experience preparing materials for executive leadership, board meetings, or investor presentations
