About the Role

We’re seeking a talented and driven Director of Hospitality Design & Interiors to lead and expand our hospitality studio. This role is ideal for a creative leader who combines visionary design thinking with strong business acumen and deep hospitality expertise.

As Director, you’ll guide the creative process for restaurants, hotels and possibly resorts while driving client development and firm growth. You’ll lead with design excellence, nurture client relationships, and shape how people experience hospitality through architecture and interiors.

This position focuses on four core areas:

1. Business Development & Client Maintenance


2. Conceptual Design & Creative Direction


3. Furniture, Fixture, and Equipment (FF&E) Design & Coordination


4. Leadership and Mentorship

What You’ll Do

Business Development & Client Maintenance

• Lead new business development and client relationship growth in the hospitality sector.


• Cultivate and maintain relationships with hotel brands; restaurant groups; developers; and operators.


• Represent ADG at industry events and conferences to strengthen our national presence.


• Collaborate with leadership and marketing on proposals, presentations, and strategic pursuits

Conceptual Design & Creative Direction

• Establish the creative vision for hospitality projects from concept to completion.


• Lead design teams in developing compelling, innovative, and experience-driven concepts.


• Oversee presentations, renderings, and storytelling that communicate design intent.


• Ensure design excellence and brand consistency across all hospitality projects.

FF&E Design & Coordination

• Direct the design and selection of all furniture, fixtures, finishes, and lighting.


• Collaborate with vendors, procurement specialists, and manufacturers to achieve the highest design and quality standards.


• Manage FF&E documentation, specifications, and budgets.


• Stay at the forefront of design trends, materials, and sustainable practices.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Establish fees and staffing needs for hospitality projects. Ensure design goals align with project budgets; schedules; and fees. Maintain quality design and deliverables efficiently, effectively and profitable.


• Supervise select design staff (timesheet review, employee reviews, career goals, etc.)


• Mentor hospitality team in design; staff management; client communications; and project management. Train and guide their development as hospitality designers.


• Participate in leadership meetings and initiatives firmwide.

What We’re Looking For

• Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design (Master’s preferred).


• Must be a Licensed Architect or Registered Interior Designer.


• 15+ years of experience in hospitality design, including leadership in design direction and project delivery.


• Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.


• Strong conceptual and visual storytelling abilities with an impressive design portfolio.


• Expertise in FF&E design and coordination.


• Excellent leadership, presentation, and communication skills.


• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and specification platforms.
