Job Description - Director of Housekeeping





    We are staffing for a Director of Housekeeping to lead the operations of a beautifully appointed, high-end property in Washington, D.C. This is an incredible opportunity to bring your leadership expertise to a dynamic hotel environment located just moments from the city's most iconic landmarks.



    The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction across rooms and public spaces. This role is ideal for someone with a strong leadership background in hospitality, a passion for excellence, and the ability to manage teams in a fast-paced, high-end environment.



    Salary: $63,500 annually



    Key Responsibilities:



    • Lead and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments, ensuring all areas meet luxury brand standards.

    • Recruit, train, and mentor housekeeping staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service.

    • Develop and implement operational procedures, quality control programs, and service excellence protocols.

    • Monitor inventory levels, manage budgets, and ensure proper supply ordering and cost control.

    • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.

    • Collaborate with engineering, front office, and other departments to respond promptly to guest needs and special requests.

    • Maintain records, generate reports, and support the hotel’s sustainability, safety, and hygiene initiatives.

    • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel brand guidelines.



    Qualifications:



    • Minimum of 5 years of housekeeping leadership experience, with at least 2 years in a Director or Assistant Director role within a full-service or luxury hotel.

    • Strong team management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and inspire large teams.

    • Proficiency with property management systems and housekeeping management software.

    • Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

    • Proven ability to manage budgets, inventory, and staffing efficiently.

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
