GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


The Director of Human Resources originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an associate-focused, high-performance culture that emphasizes high-quality care for patients and other associates. The Director of Human Resources coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; reports to the COO and serves on the leadership team; and assists and advises company directors and supervisors about Human Resources issues.


JOB DUTIES:



  • Maintain compliant and appropriate policies, programs, and practices to help align workforce with strategic CRMC goals

  • Establish departmental measures that support the accomplishment of CRMC’s strategic goals and report progress

  • Manage the maintenance of the Human Resources Information System (UKG) to facilitate a complete associate experience from recruiting through active employment

  • Define all Human Resources training programs, and assign the authority/responsibility of Human Resources and managers within those programs

  • Lead the implementation of the performance management system that values both the associate and the department’s goals and objectives

  • Support and develop the in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs. This could include the Transition to Practice Program, a needs assessment, new employee orientation/onboarding, leadership development, cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfer

  • Establish and lead the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce

  • Lead workforce retention strategies

  • Lead Medical Staff credentialing and privileging, including reports to Administrative and Medical Staff committees

  • Ensure regulatory and credentialing compliance

  • Partner with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws

  • Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation

  • Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints or concerns

  • Monitor and advise Directors and Supervisors in the corrective action system of the company

  • Review, guide, and approve management recommendations for employment terminations

  • Establish the company wage and salary structure, pay policies, and oversee the variable pay systems within the company utilizing state-wide hospital benchmarks

  • Monitor all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment.

  • Lead participation in KHA salary survey each year, others as needed

  • Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations. Including compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Program (OFCCP), Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) and so forth.

  • Direct a process of organizational planning that evaluates company structure, job design, and personnel forecasting throughout the company. Make recommendations to executive management as requested.

  • Identify and monitor the organizational culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction

  • Keep the COO and the executive team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of company goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the line management levelMaintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy


 The Human Resources Director assumes other responsibilities as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:



  • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with associates, medical staff and the public

  • Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask, excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Human Resources staff members

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Microsoft Office

  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR, Business, Organization Development or similar, required

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions

  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred

  • Active affiliation with appropriate HR networks and organizations; community involvement preferred
