Our team of 160 employees focuses on providing claim, policy, and clinical analysis on the end-to-end of medical cases, claims, disputes, appeals, and audits. J29’s Director of IT will support existing and new employees and programs of J29 (client engagements) that require management of our internal network, infrastructure, domain, and device monitoring. The ideal candidate should be comfortable conducting end to end direction of J29’s IT – including new hire imaging, onboarding, help desk support, security monitoring, user training, infrastructure support, and strategy oversight to support J29’s growth.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

The Director of IT leads J29’s IT team for a team of 150+ employees that have access to both J29 and client systems (commercial, State, and Federal owned systems). This role will be responsible for managing new-hire, current staff, and off-boarded staff in their efforts as it related to the usage of IT for J29. The ideal candidate will show experience and comfort managing internal and external accesses to systems that support J29’s efforts to commercial, State, and Federal clients in the health and human service areas. The Director of IT should be prepared and experience to support an organization that is responsible for managing and handling both PHI and PII, including Medicare and Medicaid beneficiary information.

  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals.
  • Developing J29 IT vision for growth and translating it into actionable goals with milestone steps to trigger implementations / advancements.
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software.
  • Provide onboarding and offboarding leadership and support related to IT with J29, including onboarding training related to IT systems. Additional responsibilities may include quarterly IT trainings or presentations on 'all-hands' calls.
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
  • Control budget for all IT systems and technology operations, hold department spend accountable, and report as needed to executive team.
  • Assist in building relationships with J29’s current or potential IT vendors and creating cost-efficient agreements that are aligned to J29’s IT growth.
  • Build and maintain trusted rapport with industry and government partners.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and processes, including timelines and milestones.
  • Utilize highly persuasive communication skills for online facilitation, public speaking, and presentations as needed.

 

Required Experience: 

  • 8+ years of proven experience as IT director or similar role managing staff of similar size to J29 (150-200) employees
  • 7+ years of experience working, overseeing, and managing IT infrastructure that support client engagements for State and Federal agencies – history working with HHS operation divisions is preferred but State and Federal client experience is required.
  • Experienced with Microsoft’s suite of applications – including Microsoft Intune and Defender. J29 is a Microsoft shop.
  • Experience in multi-vendor IT environments, where J29 employees will have access to external systems of outside companies.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specification as they relate to the J29 business model.
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc., including upper level help desk ability and proven resolution with Tier III and up claims.
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget as the lead representative at J29.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills that will be needed in cross-collaboration instances. Proven ability to lead and manage people, presentation and communication skillsets, and personability to engage with internal staff.
  • Outstanding communication abilities with all levels of IT, including junior to executive level staff.
  • A high level of energy with a results-driven attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of adaptability, comfortable in establishing new directions, managing rapid change, and trying different approaches to deal with uncharted territories.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with peers, colleagues, managers, consultants, and clients.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Management of Information Systems, or equivalent, is preferred.
  • Industry certifications in the networking field, infrastructure, or device management areas are preferred
