Hill Brothers Transportation is seeking a hands-on, strategically minded Director of Maintenance to lead our fleet operations with purpose and precision. If you bring deep experience with Class 8 diesel tractor-trailers, strong operational leadership, and a relentless drive for performance—this could be your next big move.

In this executive-level role, you’ll oversee the maintenance and performance of 250+ Class 8 tractors and 700+ dry van and reefer trailers, drive long-term equipment planning, and lead a talented, multi-shift team. 

You’ll have a seat at the table, real decision-making power, and the opportunity to shape both daily execution and strategic growth.

What You’ll Own

• Fleet Readiness: Ensure maximum uptime and DOT compliance for all equipment.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead shop technicians across multiple shifts.
• Facilities Oversight: Maintain the Hill Bros truck yard and related infrastructure.
• Cost Management: Control repair budgets, manage parts inventory, and vendor contracts.
• Strategy & Procurement: Collaborate on fleet purchasing to minimize maintenance costs.
• Customer Support: Deliver service-focused support to our drivers.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all shop operations
• Ensure DOT safety and maintenance compliance
• Develop and implement maintenance policies
• Analyze data to improve performance and reduce costs
• Manage contractor/vendor relationships and negotiate bids
• Support lease-purchase recommendations when applicable
• Administer truck assignment and usage tracking
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance

What You Bring

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Diesel Technology, Business, or equivalent experience
• Experience:
  • Proven leadership in diesel maintenance operations
  • Hands-on Class 8 tractor-trailer repair expertise
  • Oversight of multi-shift maintenance teams
• Licenses: CDL A preferred
• Software:  Microsoft Office proficiency; TMT/TMW experience is a plus
• Bonus: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
