Role Description:



The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving Manufacturing Operations and Logistics for our manufacturing site while identifying ways to minimize cost. This position is responsible for ensuring that production targets are met, resources are utilized efficiently, and that products meet quality standards. This position involves close coordination with other departments, such as procurement, quality control, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations. The incumbent will function as the Site Leader, responsible for the well-being of the employees, facility, and company property, as well as interacting with local authorities.


This position reports to the SVP of Operations and Manufacturing.


Role Responsibilities:


• Team Leadership: Recruit, Train, Lead, and Evaluate manufacturing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. Establish an environment that fosters diversity and inclusivity and encourages teamwork


• Oversee Manufacturing Operations: Manage all manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, and within budget. Establish and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure performance.


• Develop Manufacturing Strategies: Create and implement strategies that align with the company's overall goals, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity improvement.


• Employee Safety and Well Being: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies as well as fostering a culture of continuous improvement including ergonomics and injury prevention.


• Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet both industry standards and customer expectations.


• Budget Management: Control the site’s budget, monitor production costs, and identify areas for cost reduction.


• Continuous Improvement: Develop a continuous improvement culture whereby employees are coached and mentored to be change leaders, driving initiatives for process improvement and innovation.


• Cross Department Collaboration: Work closely and liaise with other departments and stakeholders, such as engineering, sales, and supply chain, to ensure seamless operations and alignment with business objectives.


• Implement New Technologies: Drive the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements.


• Business Continuity and Facilities Management: Ensure the proper maintenance and operability of manufacturing equipment and facilities. Establish business continuity plans in the event of catastrophic failure.


• Perform other duties as assigned


Role Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.


• Master’s degree or MBA in a related discipline is highly desirable.


• Substantial relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree


• Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations including a leadership role.


• Proven track record of implementing process improvements.


• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.


• Strong leadership and team management abilities.


• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.


• Experience with budget preparation and financial management.


• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.


• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.


• Strong project management skills.


• Proficiency with manufacturing software and tools.


• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


• Excellent organizational and time management skills.


• Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional teams.


• Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities



Work Environment:


On site in our Lehigh Valley manufacturing facility, with occasional office work. Some travel may be required to visit suppliers or customers, especially in the first 6-9 months.
