Job Description - Director of Marketing and Communications

Job Summary:

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for developing and implementing PNCB's and Institute of Pediatric Nursing's (IPN) marketing, communications, corporate relations strategies. Ensures that all publications and other communications properly support strategic efforts essential to the organization and are of excellent quality. Consistently uses a solution-oriented approach in creating interest in PNCB's unique value proposition to individuals and within healthcare institutions and related organizations. Provides cross-functional marketing and communications support to staff teams. Responsible for development of technical and creative written content and presentations, and high-level editing of materials.

ommunications:
Conceives, designs, and coordinates targeted marketing and communication efforts to promote PNCB products, programs, and partnerships.

Works with the senior leadership to create long-term marketing plans for the organization to include goals, objectives, and strategies for implementation.
Oversees the design, writing, editing, production, and dissemination of marketing materials including brochures, posters, postcard mailings, slideshows, letters, e-blasts, social media, press releases, and other items as needed to support various product lines/initiatives.
Monitors, measures, and evaluates progress of marketing activities. Compiles and shares reports as
Manages the work of contractors, vendors, and staff involved in developing and disseminating the marketing and communication plan.
Provides marketing guidance for PNCB exhibit responsibilities including selection of events, marketing materials, and exhibit display.
Researches marketing techniques, and programs of other organizations. Scans for marketing and nursing workforce trends and other items of note; shares with appropriate program areas.
Assures PNCB branding
Supports staff by assisting with scripts and FAQs. Keeps staff informed of outgoing communications and marketing initiatives.
Manages marketing budget allocations and requests subsequent year increases as needed after analysis.

Assists with the design and implementation of technology strategies to strengthen PNCB web communications and select processes.

Works with PNCB vendors to manage and enhance PNCB, IPN, and Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (AFPNP) websites and online processes.
Gathers information, plans, and implements solutions for web-based user errors related to exam enrollment and recertification as needed.

Business Development:
Develops and executes comprehensive strategic plan for corporate relations and partnerships.

Identifies, nurtures, and optimizes relationships with current and potential partners that further PNCB strategic goals.
Maintains partner relationships in the best interest of PNCB strategic

Committee Support
Provides staff support to the Institute of Pediatric Nursing (IPN), a PNCB thought leadership committee of leading industry professionals. Facilitates meetings and supports the Committee’s work by assisting with meeting agendas, work projects, and goal tracking.
Other Job Duties:
Travel to conferences and meetings as needed or required
Assists other program areas including certification services with phone calls and marketing fulfillment requests as needed

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Excellent verbal, writing, editing, proofreading, and keyboard skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines. Proficiency in and MS Office suite, HTML, Adobe Acrobat, Drupal, web design, web text programs, survey tools, PNCB's database, Photoshop, Illustrator, and lnDesign. A solid understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of PNCB. Evidence of creative works in support of marketing initiatives.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field.
Minimum Experience:

7 years marketing or relevant work experience

Work Environment:

Office Environment (Hybrid schedule- 2 days in office)
