POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily operation of the Southern First’s mortgage operations team. Hire and manage teammates to fulfill closed loans within the mortgage department in order to support Mortgage Executive and Team Leader originations. Discover and execute on technology offerings in the mortgage space to improve efficiency, ensure compliance and reduce errors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the Mortgage Processing, Disclosure, and Closing team.


• Ensure proper policies and procedures are in place to ensure compliance.


• Discover, engage, and implement new and existing technology for the mortgage team.


• Ensure Team Leader originations are supported within the mortgage channel.


• Project Manage as Business Lead on all mortgage initiatives.


• Effectively communicate with internal loan operations for booking of portfolio loans and proper accounting.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma with previous banking and/or financial experience.


• College experience in a business field of 4 to 6 years is preferable.


• Accurate typing, spelling, and grammar skills.


• Good written and oral communication skills.


• Good organizational skills.


• Interpersonal skills to represent the Bank in a positive way in dealing with clients and other team members.


• Ability to adjust to change and a willingness to be a team player.


• Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.


• Ability to work independently and take initiative to exercise judgment and make decisions within scope of authority.


• Ability to think and act quickly and to follow procedures.

WORK CONDITIONS

• The working conditions are almost exclusively inside.


• Limited travel.
