Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a hands-on clinical leader who ensures the highest standards of patient-centered care through professional oversight, team mentorship, and regulatory compliance. This role sets the tone for delivering care - emphasizing empathy, dignity, and relationship-building with clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the clinical team, fostering a culture of compassion, collaboration, and excellence in care delivery.
- Ensure all clinical operations meet or exceed federal, state, and company standards.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that prioritize dignity, safety, and client choice.
- Supervise, hire, train, and support nursing staff and field caregivers; conduct performance evaluations and ongoing coaching.
- Build strong partnerships with families and referral sources to coordinate seamless care.
- Oversee clinical documentation and compliance, including accuracy, timely assessments, and chart audits.
- Champion staff development and continuing education, ensuring team members are confident, competent, and aligned with our mission.
- Participate in strategic planning, quality improvement efforts, and regular case conferences.
- Serve as the go-to clinical expert and support resource for care teams in the field.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota (active and in good standing).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of Medicare/Medicaid and state regulations.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills with a compassionate, servant-leader mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a calm, reassuring presence.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Tech-savvy with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
