Director of Nursing

 The Director of Nursing organizes and administers individualized, professional supervisory nursing practice patient care for patients within the hospital as directed by the objectives, policies, and procedures of the hospital, and in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act. Responsible for supervising the provision and adequacy of quality care provided by licensed nursing and tech personnel. Required to recognize and assist in solving professional, supervisory and administrative issues. 

The ideal candidate is someone who:

• Has the ability to organize, direct and evaluate the work of nursing and support staff and facility activities on a 24-hour psychiatric unit. 
• Can effectively address personnel issues to promote a productive and healthy work environment. 
• Provides clinical expertise in the management of medical and psychiatric care as well as expertise in behavior management techniques. 
• Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients and families, that is conducive to the recovery process. 
• Research and utilize our industry’s best practices and analyze our own services to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Required education and experience - Registered Nurse license required; BSN highly preferred. At least 2 years’ experience as RN, preferably in pediatrics or psychiatry.

Preferred education and experience - BSN highly preferred. Supervisory experience in a hospital/residential setting preferred. Certification in Psychiatric Nursing highly preferred.
