Director Of Nursing

Desoto Healthcare Center is searching for an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing who is passionate about making a difference in the lives or our residents.  Your leadership skills will drive and coach our nursing professionals to be the best they can be while always working to uphold our Number One Core Value:  Resident First.

Work closely with Medical Director to ensure current standard practices are in place.

Implement policies and procedures with follow-up and supervision of staff to ensure compliance.

Assist with development of work assignments and schedules for nursing personnel.

Recruit and coach nursing staff to develop efficient work flow. 

Investigate and address resident/family nursing grievances or complaints as they arise 

Address problems as they arise with contracted companies (pharmacy, lab, hospice, etc.)

Attend daily, weekly, quarterly facility meetings/resident council meetings 

Make daily rounds to all resident care areas in order to observe nursing staff to ensure they perform assigned duties in accordance with established protocols 

Make unannounced rounds at various times/days to detect unique problems directly related to a specific shift, time and day 

Assume the duties and responsibilities of the Administrator in his/her absence

Any other duties, as directed by the Administrator
