DIRECTOR OF NURSING (DON) – Generations at Applewood, Matteson, IL

The Ideal Candidate Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) AND have ADON or supervisory experience in long-term care for at least 2 years.  You'll need knowledge of all rules and regulations governing skilled nursing facilities. Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON):

• Direct staff and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to provide physical and psychological support to the residents and their families
• Supervise scheduling of sufficient staff to ensure uninterrupted service to the residents at all times
• Obtain staff by recruiting, interviewing; Retain staff through dynamic leadership and team building skills
• Assist in completing monthly audits of sample EMR charting Review admissions/referrals and assist in interviewing/selecting residents for admission with the Administrator's approval
• Serve as chairperson of the Quality Assurance Committee and any other committees as required by existing regulations or as appointed by the Administrator
• Prepare clinical nursing reports for the quarterly Quality Assurance meetings
• Prepare Performance Improvement reports as required by JCAHO guidelines
• Supervise the MDS/Care Plan Coordinator to ensure that all MDS forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner

Requirements of the Director of Nursing (DON):

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Illinois
• Minimum of two (2) years of Director of Nursing (DON) or ADON experience in a skilled nursing facility
• Clinical and supervisory experience required
• Previous experience with State surveys
• Demonstrated leadership and relationship building skills
• Strong administrative, managerial, and organizational skills
