GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Surgery Center. This includes but is not limited to overseeing the scheduling of procedures, inventory control, QA/ QI, staff credentialing, preventative maintenance and safety, risk management and all related supporting services of the ambulatory surgical center and its personnel.
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
The main function of the Director of Nursing is that of leadership and promotion of cooperative staff effort.
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the allocation and completion of assigned functions in daily operations.

Services Environment
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply basic mathematical fundamentals and concepts such as: probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and reach and stretch with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust the focus. Occasionally may use excessive strength to restrain confused or combative patients during and after anesthesia induction.
