About Dominion Aviation:

Dominion Aviation is a part 135 Air Carier that has achieved the highest safety standards in the Industry in ARGUS Platinum Elite and ISBAO Stage 2. The company has been in existence for 30 years and was acquired by Vantage Aviation in 2024.

Position Summary:

Vantage Aviation is looking to hire a Director of Operations for its part 135 Air Carrier operation Dominion Aviation Services, Inc. This is a senior leadership role that is responsible for the ongoing compliance and benchmark standards for an ARG/US Platinum elite, ISBAO Stage II operator with a fleet of 10+ turbo jet aircraft.

The current fleet consists of one Gulfstream 550, 2 Gulfstream 280’s, 1 G200, 1 Challenger 350, 3 Hawker 900XP’s, Citation CJ3, King Air 350 and 2 Vision Jets.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provides oversight, guidance and supervision for all aircraft operations.
• Exercises operational control.
• Assist with scaling the fleet through FAA approvals and operational infrastructure.
• Inspect work of aircrew and flight operations personnel to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
• Ascertains that all aircraft utilized within the Air Carrier operation are properly certificated, registered, and equipped for the intended operation.
• Supervises the reporting of mechanical irregularities.
• Directs the execution of Company policies and procedures.
• Establishes operational, personnel and equipment standards.
• Participate in personnel interviews, and the hiring and discharge of operational personnel.
• Ensure Dominion Aviation meets the standards outlined in Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities guidance for operation in their airspace structure. Participates with the flight crew to obtain the necessary diplomatic clearances prior to departure for all flights into or over the boarders of foreign countries.
• Integrating the safety management system and procedures into all levels of Dominion operations.
• Maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
• Complying with all Federal, State and local safety regulations and requirements; an
• Taking prompt action to correct any unsafe act, condition or situation.
• The Director of Operation will seek and ensure that the highest levels of safety and quality are adhered to in all aspects of the operation, maintaining continuous watches over aspects of the operation that can improve their respective safety and quality.

Required Qualifications:

• MUST MEET FAR Part 119 requirements for FAR 135 Director of Operations – which also includes Position held for three of the past six years must have involved managing operations for a certificated Part 121 or Part 135 commercial air carrier. 
• Must hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP)
• Valid/Current First-Class Medical
• Typed or have prior experience in one of the following aircraft:
• Gulfstream 550
• Gulfstream 280/200
• Hawker 900XP
• Familiar with flight management software such as Jet Insight, Avianis, FOS or Fl3XX.
• Familiar with FAA FSIMS, DRS, SAS and WebOps.
• Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams and Share Point.
