This includes directing quality assurance initiatives, leading a team of technical professionals, and ensuring full regulatory and industry compliance with standards. The Director will serve as a strategic leader, interfacing regularly with engineering, operations, project teams, clients, vendors, and executive leadership.
This is a mission-critical, high-responsibility leadership role requiring extensive field and office-based coordination, full understanding of field and commissioning lifecycle management, and ongoing oversight of risk management, system performance analytics, audit readiness, and organizational compliance.
What You’ll Do:
- Direct day-to-day oversight of the Field Services and Commissioning portfolio, delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and at or above target margins
- Track schedule performance, cost, and scope adherence, applying corrective action plans to underperforming projects
- Guide disciplines spanning physical design, protection & control, electrical apparatus testing & maintenance, acceptance testing & commissioning, NETA testing, and emergency and outage work
- Uphold compliance with client standards, NESC, IEEE, NEC, and regional utility requirements
- Maintain a Quality Management framework aligned with the Divisional QMS
- Own operational KPIs, including Direct Labor Multiplier, gross margin, utilization, profitability, and margin trends
- Contribute to annual budget planning and quarterly financial reviews and produce accurate revenue forecasts and backlog reporting
- Lead recovery strategies for distressed projects
- Manage delivery and technical risk across all active projects, steering decisions away from unnecessary high-risk exposure
- Enforce change management and scope control, and champion innovation, digital design tools, and automation within workflows
- Align staffing plans with backlog and workload, balancing resources across offices to maximize efficiency
- Set clear performance metrics and foster accountability within delivery teams
- Build performance dashboards tracking schedule, cost, and margin
- Scale operational systems to support sustainable growth without margin erosion
- Safeguard a consistent client experience through disciplined delivery
- Shape proposal strategy, fee development, and interview presentations
- Represent RMS Energy at industry conferences and leadership forums
- Cultivate long-term partnerships and cross-selling opportunities
Experience We’re Looking For:

- 5+ years of progressive management experience leading technical teams and multi-discipline projects
- Proficiency in standards such as IEEE C37, NERC PRC, IEC 61850, NETA, and ISO 9001
