THE ROLE
The Director of Operations owns the company's New York City delivery hub end to end: warehouse, inventory, fulfillment, dispatch, and last-mile delivery. You'll lead the site's managers, supervisors, and hourly teams, own the P&L drivers for the market, and build the processes that let the operation scale. You'll report to senior operations leadership and partner closely with Central Ops, Engineering, Finance, and People.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Lead all daily site operations, including inbound, storage, picking, outbound, and delivery, to hit SLAs on time and in full
• Build, develop, and hold accountable a leadership team of managers and supervisors over a large hourly workforce
• Own market KPIs for on-time-in-full delivery, inventory accuracy, cost per order, labor productivity, and service quality
• Plan staffing, schedules, and labor budgets against forecasted volume
• Design and enforce SOPs; lead continuous improvement using data and technology
• Ensure full compliance with state and local regulations, including inventory tracking and reporting
• Manage vendor, carrier, and supply chain partner relationships
• Represent the operation with brand and retail partners and resolve escalations
• Partner with cross-functional teams on new processes, systems, and market expansion
WHAT YOU BRING
• 8+ years in warehouse, distribution, delivery, or logistics operations, with 4+ years leading managers
• Experience running an hourly team of 50+ in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• A track record of improving cost, speed, and accuracy, with the numbers to show it
• Strong command of operating metrics, forecasting, and labor planning
• Experience with WMS, ERP, and routing or dispatch tools
• Deep familiarity with NYC operations; understanding of the Bronx workforce and community is a strong plus
• High EQ, low ego, and willingness to be on the floor when it counts
• Background in beverage distribution, grocery, meal kits, food or pharmacy delivery, micromobility, or last-mile logistics is a plus
• Experience in a regulated industry or a high-growth startup is a plus
BENEFITS
• Medical, dental, and vision, with the majority of employee premiums covered
• 401(k)
• Equity in a high-growth company
