Director of Originations

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Originations to join our team in Chicago. The Director of Originations will be responsible for driving the origination process, identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, and managing relationships with borrowers and intermediaries. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the origination efforts for private debt investments in the middle-market segment.
Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through proactive sourcing, networking, and relationship building.
Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective borrowers, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
Structure and negotiate financing terms and documentation in collaboration with internal teams and legal counsel.
Manage and cultivate relationships with intermediaries, including investment bankers, brokers, and financial advisors.
Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure a smooth transition from origination to closing.
Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities and risks.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on origination pipeline, deal flow, and market dynamics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
Numerous years of experience in private debt origination, leveraged finance, investment banking, or related field.
Proven track record of sourcing and executing private debt transactions in the middle-market segment.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to assess credit risk and financial viability of potential investments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with borrowers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.
Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Knowledge of the Chicago middle-market landscape and network of industry contacts preferred.
