Job Description - Director of Outpatient Operations

As a Director for Outpatient Operations at Horizon, you will…


 Staff Leadership & Development



  • Ensure staffing stability and fill vacancies quickly

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise program directors through regular 1:1 meetings

  • Conduct annual reviews and support ongoing professional growth

  • Oversee hiring decisions, second interviews, and onboarding


 Operational Oversight



  • Review and analyze program data, reports, and processes

  • Guide program directors in using operational metrics effectively

  • Monitor staffing levels, productivity, and departmental performance

  • Lead monthly director meetings to align strategy and initiatives


Quality & Compliance



  • Collaborate with CQI and clinical services on new initiatives

  • Ensure successful rollout of pilots and systemic changes

  • Participate in audits, regulatory reviews, and budget planning

  • Develop corrective action plans when needed


Patient & Community Engagement



  • Support directors in crisis management and patient complaint resolution

  • Maintain strong relationships with referral sources and community partners

  • Represent Horizon at trainings, summits, and community events

We can’t wait to learn more about you! Here are a few specific details of what you’ll need for the job:



  • Master’s degree in health and human services field required.

  • Education/Licensure/Certificates: LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, or CASAC required.

    • LCSW or LMHC-D preferred



  • Minimum 5 years of behavioral health clinical experience required.

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical/operational leadership experience required.

  • Proficiency in computer navigation, Microsoft office products, Electronic medical record software.

  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated servant-leadership approach that cultivates collaboration, support and a culture of shared accountability.

  • Advanced conflict-resolution skills, with the capacity to navigate difficult conversations, mediate challenges, and sustain positive working relationships.


Location:


1370 Niagara Falls Blvd, Tonawanda NY. This position requires regular, local travel to outpatient locations in Erie, Genesee and Niagara counties.


Hours:


This is a full-time position. Monday-Friday; 8:30am-5pm; with flexibility to work early mornings or evenings on occasion. 


Compensation:


Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $80,000 - $88,000. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.


Physical demands associated with this position include:  



  • Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting

  • Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements

  • Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds
