The Corporate Payroll Manager supports the company-wide “shared services” payroll function for our multi-state casino company. The position is responsible for managing a Payroll team of three employees.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensures all appropriate data is reported to applicable state and local governments.
Responsible for accurate and timely processing of multi-state company payroll and associated federal, state, and local tax filings.
Ensures all time edits are completed prior to processing payroll
Possessing a full understanding of foundational tactical payroll compliance tasks, including FLSA, state, local labor and employment practices of a multi-state company.
Manages the relationship with third party payroll system providers in processing employee’s time, bonus payments, deductions, garnishments, and pay corrections as well as auditing and establishing compliant pay practices.
Reviewing, maintaining, and distributing annual property payroll calendars.
Compliance for payment of all compensation due to employee (missed hours, compensation) within required state and local guidelines.
Developing the annual payroll calendar timekeeping deadlines, timekeeping practices, responsibilities and the impact of proper pay and correction to pay to employees and managers effectively.
Collaborating with HR team members on LOA, FMLA, and State Leaves to insure compliance and accurate processing per laws and policies.
Audits payroll balance sheets.
Partner with HR and benefits in aligning and implementing a more sophisticated payroll and benefits system.
Creates and prepares management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.).
Ensure all tip compliance (GITCA) is setup and maintained in the system
Validates 401k transactions or loan deferrals and deduction.
Process and finalize allocated tips for non-participants
Review and approve all quarterly and yearly tax filings
Responsible for the NV Modified Business Tax preparation
Ad-Hoc reporting using UKG, Ultimate Software, Business Intelligence
Education and Experience:
College degree highly preferred.
Casino or Hotel experience highly preferred.
5+ years multi-state payroll experience, required.
2+ years recent experience with Ultimate Software/UKG required.
Certification designation of Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus.
