Job Description - Director of Philanthropy (Major Gifts - Fundraiser LII) - Major Gifts

JOB SUMMARY:
The Major Gift - Fundraiser LII is responsible for identifying/developing relationships with a core group of prospective leadership donors with capacity for major gifts of $250K+ or as defined by management; managing an active portfolio of 80-120 prospects; and maintaining an activeVawareness of individuals in the prospect pool in various stages of identification, cultivation,solicitation and stewardship. Fundable programs and projects include, but are not limited to,institutes, endowments, programs, chairs, fellowships and capital needs. This position is considered a frontline fundraiser responsible for soliciting major gifts and serves as liaison to physicians, hospital administrators, and other stakeholders. This position will implement gift strategies that are in alignment with priorities identified by the SVP/Executive Director of the Foundation and the Board of Trustees of Rady Children's Hospital Foundation. Works closely with supervisor to implement gift strategies that include the development of proposals, campaign materials, communication/marketing plans, stewardship, events and other activities relating to fundraising. Maintains an active awareness of goals, objectives, and direction of the development program as a whole. Meets or exceeds individual and department performance standards as assigned by supervisor. Creates and executes special projects as assigned by the SVP/Executive Director, the VP of Individual Giving & Grants and/or supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
4 Years of Experience
CA Driver's License
Proof of Auto Insurance
Experience in a fundraising setting
Experience with major/large gift solicitation
Detail-oriented and team player
Works efficiently under pressure; meets deadlines; demonstrates strategic thinking and good
decision-making, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit
Articulate, poised and possesses strong writing skills
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
7 Years of Experience
Knowledge around Blackbaud non-profit applications
**The expected hiring range for this position is $43.57 to $59.91**

The range listed above does not represent the full salary range for the position but is the expected hiring range for qualified candidates.
