The responsibilities of the Director of Procurement and Compliance will include working closely with legal counsel, finance, business, and sales teams to draft, review, analyze, revise, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts with a focus on master services agreements and scopes of work, and NDAs/confidentiality agreements.  You will also manage the process of vetting independent contractors to ensure accuracy and accountability for outside carriers and their performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, review, and negotiate master service agreements and amendments, statements of work, service agreements, and vendor agreements to support business activities and departmental needs.
  • Draft and redline agreement components and negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and key contract terms.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership in the management of insurance policies, claims, and litigation management.
  • Performs analysis and prepares reports to ensure allocated contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters, in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
  • Execute purchasing and category strategies while managing the entire procurement process resulting in the best possible terms for value/cost savings, quality, risk-mitigation, regulatory compliance, service, and delivery.
  • Assist with risk analysis to identify issues and develop risk mitigation strategies and effectively communicate risk to business owners and functional partners.
  • A thorough understanding of local, state, and federal regulations governing the transportation and insurance industry is necessary to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, law, supply management, or a related field is necessary.
  • 6-10 years of experience in contract management, sourcing, procurement, and supplier management.
  • Prior supervisory or managerial experience is required.
  • In depth knowledge of procurement strategy, processes, systems, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), Microsoft Office and other related software
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline workflow and improve quality of work product. Brings forward recommendations to increase efficiencies through use of tool or process enhancements.
