Director of Product Development

As a Director of Product Development, your main responsibilities will include leading the Production, Development, and Quality Control. You will be responsible for streamlining and standardizing costing and margin review processes across these categories. Additionally, you will develop and maintain production schedules on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Your role will involve identifying and implementing best practices in product development, production, quality assurance, and supply chain management. This includes designing audit processes to improve operational efficiency. You will also benchmark key metrics against industry standards to ensure optimal performance.
In terms of leadership, you will provide direction, development, evaluation,and coaching to the Product Development and Production teams. Publishing KPIs for performance evaluation is also part of your responsibilities.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Design Operations,Mechandising,Sales Marketing Planning,and Finance is crucial in providing impactful information for informed decision-making.
You will be responsible for managing commercial interactions with contract manufacturers from cost quoting through execution stages while controlling costs elements.You'll also develop cost prediction models reflecting market trends,cost reduction opportunities,and monitor supplier capacity plans & key performance indicators.
Additionally,you'll manage the full supply chain process including negotiating raw material costs,bulk allocation,purchase order placement,& production planning.Furthermore,you'll stay informed about factors likely to impact business operations & build sourcing strategies that offer efficiencies & adaptability.
Quick resolution of product-related issues by collaborating with the Merchant Design & Product Development team members is expected from you.Recommending vendors that meet cost targets & quality requirements aligning sourcing base with calendar&product needs is also part of your role
