Director of Production

BSC is seeking a seasonal Director of Production from April 15 – August 30, start and end
dates are somewhat flexible and some early work may be done remotely. The Director of
Production is a member of the senior staff and collaborates closely with the Artistic Director
and Managing Director to meet the organization's goals and to maintain the aesthetic
quality and integrity of all work. It is their job to ensure excellence in all areas of Production.
 
They are responsible for coordinating all the physical aspects of all shows and special
events including but not limited to Scenery, Props, Costumes, Lighting, Sound, and
Projections while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities:
· Generate, maintain, and distribute the seasonal Production Calendar.
· Work with the Production Management Team to interview and hire all Production Staff paying particular attention to under-represented populations.
· Implements all EDI procedures established by the theatre.
· With the Managing Director, create and oversee production budgets
· Work with each Production Department Shop Head to control and track expenses making sure all shows are built on time and on budget.
· Oversee tracking of all Production Labor and submit weekly payroll.
· Ensure that rehearsals have appropriate props, scenic elements, and costumes as requested.
· Help maintain open lines of communication between the Director, Designers, and all production departments to ensure aesthetic quality and integrity of all work.
· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
· Attend all Technical Rehearsals as needed
· Organize Production Meetings for all shows and special events.

This position reports to the Managing Director and Artistic Director and requires working
nights and weekends when the theatre is in production.

Salary is $1,200/week with housing provided.
