SUMMARY
This is the management position responsible for ensuring ACHE identifies and describes trends in healthcare leadership and factors affecting members' career achievements. This position also directs the market research activities and oversees the production of reports and analyses about the membership.
ACHE is a hybrid work environment, requiring3 days per weekin our Chicago loop office.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Research Activities 40% of Time
Develops yearly Research agenda in consultation with senior leadership. Organizes the conduct of studies and manages pace of research requests to members to achieve high response rates and produce high quality data. Sets and maintains research standards.
Reviews requests for projects and reports from internal stakeholders. Obtains clarification from users, provides expert advice on study/report design and designs research studies or data reports. Organizes the conduct of studies or report production. Selects and supervises statistical consultants.
Obtains data, writes salient findings and draws conclusions. Analyzes and addresses problems during research phase. Submits material to refereed journals for publication.
Prepares memos for executive decision-making as well as articles, white papers and monographs for publication based on research findings. Presents oral findings of research.
Assists and collaborates with outside researchers.
Information Dissemination Activities 10% of Time
Responds to a wide variety of questions from members and the general public.
Delegates or conducts research and provides answers or referral sources.
Conducts follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
Supervisory Activities 25% of Time
Schedules, directs, evaluates, and accepts responsibility for the work of one or more employees.
Initiates or recommends all personnel actions affecting these employees
Ensures personnel keep up to date with plans and developments affecting ACHE operations.
Management Activities 15% of Time
Prepares and monitors budget in all supervised areas. Ensures budget objectives are met.
Develops and implements objectives. Ensures objectives are met.
Participates in internal committees as assigned.
Facilitates communication between management and other staff by conducting meetings and utilizing other channels as appropriate.
Provides timely reports to supervisor on activities and progress.
Liaison Activities 5% of Time
Represents the organization to external agencies/organizations to assist them in presentations, conferences, publications, recruitment and promotional activities.
Awards Activities 5% of Time
Publicizes availability of awards.
Reviews applications for completeness.
Advises and works with committee members.
Provides detailed follow up and publicity of the award.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Masterâs degree required. Doctorate degree in health care administration, social science or related field preferred.
Minimum of five to ten years experience directing significant social surveys. Supervisory experience preferred.
Experience conducting focus groups and/or qualitative studies such as case analyses.
Experience conducting or overseeing data analyses.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have strong customer service orientation.
Must have strong team orientation.
Must be computer literate.
Ability to use word processing software (Microsoft Word).
Good time management and organizational skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must possess sound judgment, discretion and a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to memorize a wide variety and type of information.
Ability to make decisions.
Ability to respond quickly to situations influencing decision making.
Must have regular and predictable attendance.
