JOB REQUIREMENTS: Director of Sales - R-0058587DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Summary The Director of Sales (DOS)develops and implements sales strategy of the hotel to ensure thatoccupancy, average daily rate and market share goals are achieved. TheDOS will work directly with the Executive Team to identify specificstrategies and tactics to drive revenue according to the hotel\'sseasonal demand. The DOS will work with Sonesta\'s Marketing, RevenueManagement, and Sales teams to leverage national brand strategies at thelocal level. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Deliver on the promise ofSonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients. Manageaccording to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion forcustomer service in all associates of the hotel. * Develop and maintainrelationships with key clients in order to produce extended stay roomsales by regularly selling hotel rooms through direct client contact attheir place of business. * Develop new accounts, maintain existingaccounts, and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals andmaximize profits for the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction.Create room allocation and pricing strategies for all Local NegotiatedAccounts, collaborate with the General Manager and Regional RevenueManager for counsel as needed. * Achieve budgeted revenues andpersonal/team sales goals, and maximize profitability within all areasof responsibility. Participate in the preparation of the annualdepartmental operating budget, the hotel sales and marketing plan, andother assigned financial plans which support the overall objectives ofthe hotel. Produce regular reports and sales forecasts. * Work as partof the senior leadership team of the hotel to positively impact theeffectiveness of the operation of the hotel. * If managing other Salesemployees, hiring and evaluating the appropriate sales people for thehotel, directing the day-to-day activities of the team, planning,organizing and assigning work, developing and communicating strategiesand goals. Create, train, and motivate those responsible for developingnew accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing salesstrategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits for the hotel,while maintaining guest satisfaction. Advise staff of formal policiesand procedures. Manage all human resources-related actions in accordancewith Company rules and policies. * Independently create and implementhotel-level tactical sales plans that drive measurable incrementaloccupancy, increase average rates, and increase business volume duringoff-peak periods. Monitor sales activities and performance to ensureactual sales exceed the established revenue plan. * Analyzecurrent/potential market and sales trends. Coordinate all activities tomaintain and increase revenue and market share through added businessvolume and increased rates. * Coordinate with other hotel-leveldepartments to facilitate services agreed upon by the Sales Office andprospective clients. * Develop and maintain positive relationships withofficials and representatives of local community groups.
