Overview of the Director of IT role:
Direct the IT department, overseeing roles such as network administration, database management, and desktop support.
Cybersecurity Oversight: Manage the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, encompassing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption.
Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and execute strategies to safeguard vital data and systems in case of emergencies.
Asset Management: Supervise systems for tracking the lifecycle of hardware and software assets.
Budget Management: Ensure efficient allocation of resources by overseeing the IT budget.
Technology Strategy Development: Create and implement long-term technology strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Infrastructure Management: Lead the design, deployment, and upkeep of the school's network infrastructure.
Hardware Procurement and Setup: Make decisions regarding the school's hardware requirements and supervise procurement and installation processes. Software Solutions Selection: Identify and implement suitable software solutions for departmental needs while ensuring timely updates.
Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers, managing contracts effectively.
Preferred Qualifications for the Director of IT
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience leading a school IT department or department in a technology-related field
Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute initiatives
