Job Description - Director of Training and Recruitment

Overview
This position supports the work of the YMCA of Northern Colorado, a leading nonprofit and charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the supervision of the COO the Director of Training & Recruitment will be responsible for the coordination, management and implementation of the association’s training, certification, internship, volunteer and work-study programs. This position will work closely with YESS HR and YESS Risk to support consistent communication and practices in the relevant areas and lead projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

Hire, train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.

Work with departments to ensure all training requirements are up-to-date and relevant, support in the creation of new content and ensure all staff follow association expectations.

Create an annual training calendar for all levels of staff.

Monitor compliance and communicate regularly with branch and departments leadership.

Coordinate and implement the Supervisor Series training program.

Manage and coordinate the work study program including the relationship and communications with higher education institutions and students, management of agreements and coordination with YMCA staff.

Develops, implements, and maintains a consistent on-boarding and orientation process for staff at every level of the organization including department specific processes that meet association requirements.

Oversees participation in YMCA of the USA training opportunities and Leadership Certification progress for all staff in the association, including identification and management of internal YUSA trainers .

Create and manage a robust internship program.

Prioritize and coordinate attendance at appropriate job and recruitment fairs in the YMCA service area.

Lead volunteer recruitment for the association, understanding the needs of departments and key projects.

Manage the Volunteer Matters platform for all non-sports volunteers.

Administer the Snappy program.

Identify key recruitment (non-YESS) platforms and manage postings for open positions in the association.

Coordinate, supervise and facilitate the training schedule for all internal (staff/volunteer) and external (community) certification courses, including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Standard Precautions, Lifeguarding Certification and Recertification, Wilderness First Aid, Red Cross Babysitting, AED, Oxygen Administration, and Concussion Protocol.

Executes regular monitoring of AED usage and records including coordination of use and supply logs, equipment ordering as needed, and communication with branch AED coordinators and physician advisor as needed.

Conduct instructor certification and recertification as needed.

Works collaboratively with branch executives, department heads and YESS Risk to establish and implement necessary Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and provides training on the EAPs to key staff.

Conducts monthly certification status audits for all staff and communicates upcoming expirations to employees and volunteers to ensure compliance with certification requirements across the association.

Conducts periodical assessments of all certification and training courses and instructors with the intent of supporting course quality and consistency.

Communicates curriculum updates as needed to all applicable instructors.

Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.

Assists in the development and monitoring of program budget to meet fiscal objectives.

Model relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs.

Act as the direct contact for YESS HR and YESS Risk in assigned focus areas.

Ensure all requirements of the Influence Grants are met.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.

3 + years’ experience in a training leadership role with experience training.

Two or more years of supervisory experience.

Experience developing training using multiple applications and technology to ensure training is up to date and relevant to the organization.

Minimum age of 21.

Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; and Bloodborne Pathogens.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Strong listening skills, written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Learning Management Systems for delivering training.

Ability to be innovative, creative, and a proven self-motivated, team-oriented attitude.

Trainer Certifications (current or able to obtain within 60 days of hire):

Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid, and 02 certification

Part-Time employees

Posted Salary Range USD $55,000.00 - USD $63,000.00 /Yr.
