Director of Transit Operations

Omega Health Services is seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Transit Operations to lead and manage our transportation services team in Chantilly, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be overall responsible for the efficiency, safety, and compliance of all transit operations, ensuring optimal service delivery for our patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Transit Strategy and Management:
  
  
  
  • Oversee and manage all facets of the daily transit operations, including vehicle dispatch, route planning, and scheduling for buses and other organization vehicles.
  
  
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, on-time performance, and service quality.
  
  
  
  


• Compliance and Safety Leadership:
  
  
  
  • Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including FMCSA and DOT requirements.
  
  
  • Establish and enforce rigorous Omega Health Services safety protocols and emergency response procedures across the entire fleet and driver team.
  
  
  • Manage and review all driver documentation, including Driver's Logs and incident reports, to maintain regulatory compliance.
  
  
  
  


• Fleet and Vehicle Maintenance:
  
  
  
  • Direct the Vehicle Maintenance program, scheduling preventative maintenance, managing repair budgets, and ensuring all vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant.
  
  
  • Oversee the management of vehicle inventory, fuel consumption, and asset life cycle planning.
  
  
  
  


• Team Leadership and Development:
  
  
  
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise the team of Transit Drivers and support staff.
  
  
  • Conduct performance reviews, manage scheduling, and ensure drivers maintain a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and appropriate endorsements.
  
  
  
  


• Documentation and Reporting:
  
  
  
  • Develop, maintain, and present accurate operational reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), budget tracking, and detailed fleet documentation to executive leadership.
  
  
  
  


• Stakeholder Relations:
  
  
  
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related issues with internal departments (e.g., medical offices, residential facilities) and external regulatory bodies.
