Director of Unhoused Services | Homelessness

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a full-time Director of Unhoused Services.  Under the direct supervision of the CIO, the Director will oversee, and lead programs and initiatives aimed at addressing and alleviating homelessness throughout the State. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the unhoused programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing a safe and supportive environment for persons experiencing homelessness.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Develop and foster strong relationships with various stakeholders, including government agencies (local, state, federal), community organizations, non-profit partners, and funders.
• Act as an advocate for the unhoused population, staying informed of relevant policies and working to influence local and state regulations related to homelessness and affordable housing.
• Supervises department staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Collecting and reconciling receipts: Gathering Amex receipts from cardholders and matching them against their Amex statements.

• Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related discipline. 
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage crises.
• Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills. 
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work with persons with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
• Proficient in MS Office products as well as general computer literacy.  
• Bilingual skills are a plus!
• MUST have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record. 
• Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
