The Director of Warehouse Operations plays a critical role in overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations within the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively manage resources, optimize processes, and ensure the smooth functioning across multiple warehouse departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management.

• Oversee a diverse group of individuals spread across multiple departments including fulfillment, inventory control, returns, customer service, and back end of custom apparel

• Manage payroll and staffing levels, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations

• Oversee all internships and ensure proper training and development is happening

• Negotiate contracts with third-party vendors, shipping carriers, and service providers to optimize costs and service levels

• Evaluate and implement warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology solutions to streamline operations

• Utilize WMS and ERP to measure KPIs and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of warehouse operations

• Conduct regular performance reviews and analysis to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA and Fire Marshal

• Oversee Safety Manager and lead Safety Committee meetings

• Serve as a member of the Sr. Leadership team and as such is responsible for providing leadership in decision-making and vision building for Born Primitive

• Provide leadership and direction to warehouse staff, including supervisors, managers, and associates.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and mentor team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.

• Establish all standards of Customer Service to be executed in order to keep satisfaction scores high and customer acquisition high

• Implement measures to improve productivity, minimize errors, and maximize throughput

• Oversee all operational costs as it pertains to warehouse operations by approving purchases

• Main Point of Contact between warehouse and headquarters in regards to marketing, promotions, product changes, etc.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure company promotions are able to be executed correctly and planned for accordingly in regards to warehouse operations

• Monitor alarm system and on-site security cameras

• Assist with future building plans in regards to proper setup and execution of the warehouse move

• Maintain all employee files for warehouse employees

• Oversee all supply ordering and project inventory levels to ensure appropriate stock

• Provide a monthly data report for the Vice President outlining the shipping analysis and product return KPIs

• Demonstrates a commitment to the Born Primitive mission

• Displays a desire to work as a team leader, using a compassionate, collaborative, and respectful approach

• Supports a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and communicating process and safety improvements

• Follows all safety policies and procedures, including reporting all unsafe acts and behaviors, safety hazards, incidents, or accidents immediately

• Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related study

• Seven or more years of distribution center experience

• Five or more years of management/director level experience

• High level of communication skills; professional and diplomatic ability to converse among multiple departments

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to develop, nurture, grow, and enable strengths within teams to promote success

• Experience working closely with internal management groups and ability to provide support as well as monitoring for results

• Analytical skills and ability to run technical reports and draw insight to lead decision making

Physical Requirements:

Associates in this position should expect to constantly bend, stoop, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and crouch as needed. Frequently associates in this position may be asked to climb stairs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, work in extreme conditions (heat/cold), and/or travel on a voluntary basis. Occasionally, associates in this position will be required to sit at a desk, however, standing desks are available.
