PURPOSE:
The Director, Operational Control & Performance will support and lead the dispatch and flight crew support functions to effectively execute Avelo’s flight operations. This role requires tactical problem solving and the ability to identify opportunities and create standards to improve overall OCC performance. This position will take the initiative to ensure not only the safety but timeliness of Avelo’s flight operations while maintaining compliance with all applicable company rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responding to stressful situations, determining the right course of action to maintain safety, meet regulatory standards, and keep our commitments to customers and crew members.
Lead and provide guidance to OCC crew members to ensure the efficient execution of daily operations, disruption recovery, and customer satisfaction.
Develop and implement standards within the OCC to ensure compliance and improve overall performance
Lead and provide guidance to OCC crew members for aircraft routing decisions and be the primary liaison to resolve any conflicts with the line maintenance schedule
Primary leader for the management of short notice charters and ACMI customer schedule inquiries and suitability requests
Proactively monitor crew availability to support potential operational disruptions
Monitor performance metrics to identify and share opportunities for operational performance improvement with the leadership team
Support continuous improvement initiatives with processes, systems, and personnel
Understand the “big picture” to deliver a safe, on-time, and cost-effective product and guide the OCC to meet company goals
Requirements
College degree
A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an OCC/SOC leader at a 121 Air Carrier
FAA Dispatcher Certificate
Experience with NAVBLUE N-OC/N-FP, preferred
Experience with international flight operations
May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, etc.)
